Kovacs & Dyberg meet Greg Cohen in Berlin in January. Today we were so lucky to receive Greg’s kind words:
”I have always been fascinated with music that seems to go forwards and backwards at the same time.
And music where the traditional roles are inverted, either due to limitations or the conscious decisions to keep the balance points shifting in how the music is created.
Kovacs & Dyberg are a duo that taps into a dimension that is not the norm in jazz. With only saxophone and voice to establish the parameters of their music, they twist and turn the lines that are both composed and improvised as if – Kovacs became Dyberg and visa versa.

The way I wish to compose is defined by spontaneity and always enjoying improvising on my saxophone, without analyzing, embracing the music that emerges- what ever that is.

The 10 of december i played the last concert of the year in Jazzhouse with Christian Balvig & Anders Vestergaard as a guest star. We had not only two photographers shooting at us this evening.
